Gorey made the short trip to Enniscorthy looking to maintain their impressive run of form, but faced a physical and much-improved home side who started brightly.

Gorey's defence stood firm in the opening exchanges, closing down space quickly and frustrating the Enniscorthy attack. Captain William led by example, putting his body on the line on several occasions to keep the hosts at bay.

Gorey were first to strike when Emmet slipped William through to touch down beneath the posts. Fiachra added the conversion to give Gorey a 7-0 lead.

The visitors soon doubled down on their advantage with some excellent attacking play. A well-worked move saw the ball moved quickly out wide, where Gorey had the numbers for Joey to finish brilliantly in the corner. Fiachra's conversion fell just short, leaving the score at 12-0.

Gorey added a third try before the break following some impressive work from Tristan, who gathered possession from a loose Enniscorthy kick. The resulting attack saw Joey cross for his second try of the game, with Fiachra adding the extras to give Gorey a commanding 19-0 half-time lead.

Enniscorthy came out strongly after the restart and were rewarded for a sustained period of pressure with a try to reduce the deficit to 19-5.

However, Gorey quickly regained control. Second-half substitute Bogdon made an immediate impact, powering his way over the line for Gorey's fourth try. Fiachra added another conversion to extend the lead to 26-5.

Captain William then produced another outstanding moment, starting and finishing a superb attacking move to claim his second try of the afternoon. Fiachra was again successful from the tee, stretching Gorey's advantage to 33-5.

It was fitting reward for William, who seemed to cover every blade of grass, making countless tackles, winning turnovers and driving his team forward in a true captain's performance.

With Gorey making full use of their bench, the visitors lost a little momentum in the closing stages, allowing Enniscorthy to cross for a late consolation try and leave the final score at 33-12.

A hugely encouraging team performance from Gorey, built on determined defence, sharp attacking play and tremendous work rate across the pitch.

William was outstanding as captain, while Joey deserves special mention for his two well-taken tries. Mark also delivered an excellent performance, working tirelessly throughout and making a significant contribution to another impressive Gorey victory.
