As the 2026/27 season gets underway, I would like to wish all of our teams, from our youngest players right through to our senior sides, the very best of luck for the season ahead.

I would also like to say a sincere thank you to the many people who give their time so generously to Gorey RFC. Our coaches, volunteers, committee members, parents, supporters, sponsors and everyone who helps out week after week are what make this club the vibrant and welcoming place it is.

Last season was huge for Gorey RFC, trophies, titles, triumphs and lessons-learnt. New energy efficient pitch floodlights will make training better on the dark winter nights. Our lit community walking track will make the club more welcoming to the wider Gorey community. This year, we hope to take another significant step forward, with plans for a new roof on our clubhouse and a covered area outside, providing better facilities and a more welcoming space for our members and the wider community.

Our club continues to grow. Last season we had almost 800 paid-up members, the highest in our history. That is something we can all be very proud of, but it also means we need to keep looking ahead and investing in facilities that can support the club for many years to come.

I look forward to seeing everyone around the club over the coming season.
Best wishes to everyone for the season ahead.

Mick Stokes

Gorey RFC President 2025-2026 & 2026-2027
