It is an honour for me to step into the role of President of our club. Gorey Rugby Club has been a massive part of my life for longer than I care to admit. My family has a strong connection to the club with my Father, myself & my three boys having played or currently playing , so to now serve the club as President is truly special for my family & I.
Gorey RFC is far more than just a rugby club, it is a place where friendships are formed, values are passed on & where everybody from minis to veterans are welcomed & included. We are lucky to have a strong growing community of around 600 members & that sense of togetherness is what makes this club so unique.
As we look forward to the season ahead there is plenty to be excited about. We are hopeful that a new walking track & upgraded floodlights will be in place by the time we kick off again, This is just the latest part of our long term development plan to improve & futureproof our club for all our members & indeed the community in general.
I would like to take a moment to thank all the volunteers who give their time & energy to help make our club what it is, it truly does take a village, thank you all, you are the beating heart of our club. If you have time, skills or even just enthusiasm to offer we would love to hear from you.
Every bit of help makes a difference. I also want to thank all of our Sponsors for their continuing support.
I would like to wish everybody, Players, Coaches, Parents, Supporters & Volunteers all the very best for the season ahead.
Warm Regards Mick Stokes President Gorey RFC 2025-2026
