Gorey maintained their 100% winning start away to a much improved Wicklow team on Saturday.

Wicklow started the brighter of there teams and dominated the early territory but Gorey’s defence stood firm led by Fiachra who was working tirelessly to shut down spaces.
Gorey made a few substitutions to to freshen up the team and this allowed them to get there upper hand, the first try came soon after a great run by Fintan was halted illegally, Gorey penalty 5 meters out. William carried from the penalty but was stopped just short, Gorey weren’t too be denied do as quick ball from Emmet led to Daniel getting over, Fiachra added the conversion 0-7

Gorey were flying now and a great move involving Fiachra, William and Harry saw Emmet find Lochlann who put Daniel away for his second try, it was just reward for Daniel who was excellent on the day, Fiachra again added the extras 0-14 HT.

Into the 2nd half and Gorey added a 3rd try from William, a quickly taken penalty from Emmet to William who held off a couple off defenders to score beside the posts, Fiachra continued his good form from the tee with his 3rd conversion off the day 0-21.

Gorey’s 4th try came from superb vision from William who kicked a great ball though for Joey to race onto, Joey still had a lot to do but a super touch allowed him to collect the ball and race over, Fiachra added the extras 0-28.

The 5th try came from a good carry from Mark which allowed William to release Joey who stepped his man brilliantly to get over in the corner for his 2nd off the game 0-33 FT.

Another encouraging performance from everyone involved, they are next in action Saturday at home to AR Vikings with a 3pm start .
