Firstly, I would like to thank our coaches and everyone involved in Gorey RFC for giving me the opportunity to captain the Senior Women’s team this season. It is a privilege that I am incredibly proud of.

Last season was a very special one for our team. What started as a group of players coming together to bring women’s rugby back to Gorey quickly became something much bigger. From our very first game, through training sessions, away trips, cup matches and everything in between, we built friendships and memories that will stay with us for a long time.

Winning the Leinster Cup in our first season together was an incredible achievement, but what made it even more special was the journey that got us there. Many of the players were new to rugby, yet every single person showed commitment, determination and a willingness to support one another. The bond that developed within the team is something I am extremely proud to have been part of.

As we look ahead to the new season, I am excited to see where this journey takes us next. We have laid strong foundations, and I know this group will continue to grow both on and off the pitch.

I would also like to wish the Senior Men’s team and all teams throughout the club the very best for the season ahead. We look forward to supporting you from the side-lines and celebrating your successes along the way.

To our younger players, keep enjoying your rugby, keep working hard and never be afraid to give something new a try. We hope that the Senior Women’s team can continue to be a positive example of what can be achieved when people come together and support one another.

Finally, I would like to thank our coaches, volunteers, supporters, sponsors and Executive Committee. The time and effort you give to the club does not go unnoticed, and none of what we achieved last season would have been possible without the shared determination to get the women’s team back up and running.

On behalf of the Senior Women’s squad, thank you for your continued support. We can’t wait to get back out on the pitch, enjoy another season together, and see where it takes us.
