Our 5 Gorey RFC U16 boys took to the field last night for the opening round of the Shane Horgan Cup, taking on North Midlands in what turned out to be an incredibly close contest.
The lads went down 29–24, but that scoreline certainly doesn’t tell the full story of just how close this game was — and what might have been.
They battled right to the final whistle and came away with 2 invaluable losing bonus points, giving them plenty to take forward into the rest of the competition.
Our five lads, led by Captain Aidan Brennan and Vice-Captain Tyler Klopper, represented Gorey RFC superbly on the night. We couldn’t be prouder of the way they carried themselves and represented their club. 💚🤍💙
