There’s a real sense of momentum building around Gorey RFC as the season reaches its business end, with a number of sides pushing deep into semi-finals and finals across Leinster and the South East.
From the youngest squads right up to the senior teams, it’s been a year defined by hard work, tight matches, and big performances when it mattered most. The U13s have already shown what’s possible, battling their way to silverware and setting the tone for the rest of the club.
Now, attention turns to a run of huge knockout fixtures. The U14 boys are right in the mix with a Leinster semi-final on the horizon, while across the club, girls’ and women’s teams continue to make their mark, including a Senior Ladies side coming off a strong cup win and driving on in their campaign.
Back at Clonattin and on the road, there’s no shortage of big days ahead. Semi-finals, finals, and cup ties — the kind of matches every player looks forward to at the start of the season — are now here. And with that comes the chance to test everything they’ve worked on all year.
What stands out most is the togetherness across the club. Different teams, different age groups, but all pulling in the same direction — representing Gorey with pride and backing each other every step of the way.
These are the days that stay with players. Big games, tight margins, and the chance to wear the jersey with something on the line.
All that’s left now is to get out and support. Parents, friends, and supporters can play their part — whether it’s on the sideline in Clonattin or travelling with the teams — helping to lift the players for what promises to be a brilliant run of rugby.
