Gorey RFC enjoyed one of its most successful and wide-ranging weekends of the season, with victories and standout performances recorded across all age grades – from minis right through to senior level.
At adult level, both senior men’s sides delivered impressive results. The J1s continued their strong league form with a hard-earned win, while the J2s maintained their momentum with another important victory, underlining the depth and quality within the club’s senior ranks.
There was also a significant milestone for the senior women’s team, who marked their return to competitive rugby in style with a win in the Leinster Cup. Their comeback represents a major boost for the club and highlights the continued growth of the women’s game in Gorey.
Youth rugby also produced outstanding success stories. The U18.5 boys secured the Premiership title following an excellent campaign, demonstrating consistency and high performance throughout the season. At U13 level, Gorey claimed the South East League title for the first time in a decade, a notable achievement for a talented group that has shown great development.
Elsewhere, the U14 girls delivered another strong performance to claim victory, continuing their impressive run of form this season. The U14 boys also hosted a visiting Italian touring side, providing a valuable and memorable international experience for players.
Our U15 boys delivered a dominant display in their Premiership clash with Tullamore to set up a Semi-Final with their old rivals Tullow.
At mini level, the U12 girls had a special day at the Aviva Stadium, where they showcased their skills during the half-time interval of the Leinster v Scarlets match – a proud occasion for players, coaches, and supporters alike.
Overall, it was a weekend that reflected the strength, depth, and community spirit of Gorey RFC, with success on the pitch matched by memorable experiences off it across all sections of the club. Thank you to our coaches, managers, sponsors & parents but mostly to our spirited teams who did our club proud.
