💚🤍💙 U14 Boys Premier League Gorey 14 Naas 15

A tough one to take for our U14 boys on Saturday as Gorey fell to a narrow 15-14 defeat to Naas in our final pool game of the Premier League. On a lovely spring day in Gorey, a minute’s silence was also observed before kick-off to honour great club man Willy Willoughby. 💚🤍💙

Gorey started brightly and opened the scoring after 10 minutes when Andrew sliced through from centre, with Alex adding the conversion. Naas hit back before the break, and after edging ahead early in the second half, Gorey responded superbly with strong work from Ronan, Thomas and Noah, who sniped over for a well-taken try, again converted by Alex.

Naas eventually kicked the decisive penalty late on, but there was no shortage of heart from the Gorey lads. 

Big performances from Ben, Fionn, Noah, Sam and Ronan, while Andrew was outstanding in his new centre role. Despite the defeat, Gorey finish the pool stages joint top with Dundalk, with head-to-head keeping us in top spot. On to the Leinster League Semi-Final on 11th April 💪💚🤍💙
