On a beautiful Spring morning our u14 girls welcomed Mullingar Blues to Gorey for their 6th round league match.
They engaged in a minutes silence in memory of Willie Willoughby and wore Odd Socks for World Down Syndrome Day.
From KO they started strong and never let their foot off the pedal, running in 9 well earned and worked tries with well deserved player of the match #10 Darcie Bailey not only scoring a try in the corner but also had 100% record from the tee and some amazing in play kicks.
Tries on the day came from #7 Elly Rynhart Kenny, #10 Darcie Bailey, #15 Medbh Dowling, #18 Jessie Milligan Huzevkova, capt. And #12 Rosie Ryan with #5 Elsie Noctor and #8 Caoimhe McCann each scoring 2 tries.
Some amazing carries and tackles by each girl on the team, working together and showing how far they have come this season as individual players and as a team. Another proud day for parents, manager and coaches alike.
Next task is AWAY v Dundalk in round 7. All to play for as they are 4th in the table with Dundalk 5th. The fight for semi final placement awaits 🙏💙🤍💚
