On International Women’s Day, our Gorey U10 girls held a blitz on home turf and welcomed teams from Killkenny, Tullow, Wicklow and Rathdrum.
Gorey had 2 strong teams.
The celebrations started with the girls teams being clapped on to the field by the U14s Boys team. The weather was perfect and the atmosphere was electric. The girls started well and stayed strong. The Gorey girls had perfect line outs, breaks form the line support and strength.
These teams of young women should be very proud of themselves. The girls have trained hard all season and are now seeing the fruits of their labour. Plenty of fun was had by all, evident from the smiles and laughter around the pitch.
Training next week and a Leinster blitz on March 22nd and as one coach said onwards and upwards!
