Gorey RFC U14 Boys — Match Report
Leinster League: Gorey RFC vs Navan RFC
Venue: Clonattin Road
Date: Saturday 1st November 2025
The weather improved in time to leave the pitch in great order, and lovely conditions for playing.
Gorey started with the now usual intensity, a long kick from Harry ,topped by great pressure resulted in a scrum deep in Navan territory, Eoin opening our account in the first minutes of the match.
The team had their tails up and were relentless for the remainder of the half scoring 8 more tries and converting 6, keeping their own line un- broken.
Wholesale changes meant game time and some different position experience for the majority of the group.
Things went better for Navan in the 2nd half ,scoring 3 tries to Goreys 1.
Tries from Harry 2, Thomas 2, Eoin 2, Noah, Sam, Jack.C and Dave.
Conversions from Harry ,Alex, Thomas and Tadgh.(8 from 10)
A few points worth mentioning from the game...
Zander took on a giant and saved an almost certain try, had a couple of big moments throughout topped off with a jackle in the final moments.
A perfectly executed box kick from Alex ,resulting in a try.
Noah.R getting his 1st try.
Tadgh just casually drop kicked a conversion .
13 Zach racked up a big tackle count.
Thomas was his usual level of destructive.
Hugh is really starting to bring effort and power in defence with some massive tackles.
Man of the Match — #6 Finn ,again raising the bar , huge effort and a big effect throughout the game.
