Saturday 19th Gorey headed to Wicklow RFC to face Tullow in the South East Final.

It was a very wet day and the groundsman did very well to have the pitch pass inspection.

Gorey were captained today by Andrew, a few unavailable players this week meant a few new faces and some playing out of position.

Despite the rain, both teams came out fired up for battle.  The conditions led to a rather messy stop-start affair, making getting any kind of momentum difficult.

Around 20 minutes in, Tullow backs broke Gorey's defence to score and add the difficult conversion.

The second half was much the same as the 1st, Gorey trying everything to get back in control but despite some promising work at times, it was not to be.

Final score Tullow win 7-0

Some points of note from the game..

Jack Robins again pulled off some try-saving tackling which any other day would be match winners.

Paddy put in a big shift out of position.

Zach put in a huge performance on both sides of the ball.

It's not the end we wanted, but what a season we've had.

We kept a big squad together all year, saw progress and development throughout the squad in both skills and spirit of the game. 

Any team would and should be delighted to win one, make another final, and a cup semi. 

Every week we had fantastic support from friends and family and can't wait for next season.

Off to Spain on tour this week to enjoy ourselves!
