Mon 30th Gorey hosted the rearranged friendly with Wicklow U13s for a 2pm kick-off.

Adam captained the side with a good few regulars starting on the bench.

A good start saw Finn touching down after a turnover and a good break.
Pressure straight from the restart and some good work by Gorey led to Jack Curley turning up in the backline to score a try, converted by Alex.
Further pressure and some lovely rugby notably lovely quick hands from Adam to release Tadgh for a try, conversion just out of range.
A lapse in Gorey's tackling and a strong carry from Wicklow's no6 resulted in a converted try.

Just before halftime a clever kick in behind by outhalf  Alex finished with Jack claiming his second try of the game, again the conversion attempt just a little short.
Halftime score 23...7

The second half started , Wicklow seemingly much improved with Gorey loosing and early scrum but a brilliant tackle from Zach denying Wicklow, however the resulting lineout was messy and Wicklow capitalised with a try.

Again an untidy Gorey lineout was punished by Wicklow scoring another try.

A much more even period followed with some great entertaining rugby on show.

About 10 mins remained when a lovely phase of play with great runs from Paddy and Owen followed by Alex perfectly drawing his man before his pass released Zach for his birthday try.

Full time score 28...17.

Well done boys a good win and nice way to run off the holiday cobwebs and dinner.
Special mention to this week's Captain and man of the match Adam, giving it his all on the pitch and instructing his teammates throughout the match.

Up next Carlow in the Southeast Semifinal.
