A sunny autumn day in Kilkenny was the setting for U16 Girls Team 3 rd South-East League match.

Gorey scored first and it was a team try, with 6 or 7 phases of play and pressure, with carries by Aoibhin, Emma and Liliana before Emer touched down and Amy kicked the conversion. Then Kilkenny got over the line, but were held up superbly; that was as good as a try. The second score was started with an interception by Amy, followed-up by a couple of rucks before Aoibhin went over the line with Emer kicking the conversion. This was followed by an interception by Ciara who was clean through and touched down under the post. At half time, even though the score was very healthy, there was plenty of sore bodies and it was great that there were super subs available to step in.

The second half started with a try for Gorey (Emer) and then Kilkenny. Another score came from a strong run off the back on a scrum by Aoibhin. In the scrum, we stole the ball twice on Kilkenny, well done Aisling, coach and ex-hooker Mike liked those steals. We finished with Zara touching down and then Amy scoring an intercept try. The final scoreline was 7-43, but there are some areas for improvement to be worked on in training.
