3 mins in and a by now familiar weaving run saw Zack Bailey score under the post with Harry Swaine converting. Moments later, full back, Jack Robins made a huge try saving tackle followed by Gorey pressure leading to a fine Finn Brannigan try with Swaine converting. On the 15 minutes mark, a scrum turnover and some slick passing left Patrick Murphy to cross in the corner. Just on half time a good team effort led to a well taken try and conversion by Alex Graves . Score at half time: Gorey 26 - 0
Some team changes and Gorey continued as they started with Thomas Rothwell scoring and converted by Oisin White. Some great handling and rucking created space for Oisin to score which Swaine also converted. Enniscorthy came back hard and Gorey's Andrew Bailey put in a huge effort to cover back and save a certain try. In the last moments of the game the familiar big carry of Hugh Ryan saw him rewarded with a well-deserved try under the posts converted by Alex Graves full time. Final score: Gorey 47 - Enniscorthy 0.
The 3rd 20 minutes saw the rest of the Gorey and Enniscorthy players get a good run out with a few players really putting their hands up for a starting slot next week against Wexford.
Another great team performance by the boys and many selection headaches for the coaches with everyone putting in a great effort, and most of all enjoying themselves.
A very special thanks to the parents who supplied food and refreshments following the game and to Guy Robbins for the amazing photography.
