Gorey welcomed New Ross for the first home competitive match of the season. The match got off

to a great start with a try in the first minute for Gorey from the kickoff. There was plenty of hard running and tough tackling from both teams. By half-time Gorey had a healthy lead. The second half started with some fresh legs from the bench, which helped the team to continue scoring. In the last quarter New Ross showed some great fighting spirit, and scored 3 tries. 

The final score was 50-17. 

Ciara, Aoibhin and Amy scored tries for Gorey while Emer and Amy got some super conversions. Training work on the scrum and line-out is starting to bear fruit. The backs also had some moves that were put to good use. It was a great win early in the season, but there is still room for improvement. Welcome back from injury Lily, and wishing a speedy recovery to Siera.
