Sunday 15th September.
After a bye in round 1, Gorey u13s had their 1st match of the season away to Kilkenny in the South East league.
The dampness gave way to a lovely afternoon for rugby. There was plenty of nerves evident among the boys and the coaches on our 1st outing as 15 aside on a full pitch. That being said, a great and good natured game unfolded and about the 10 min mark, man of the match, Hugh Ryan crashed over the try line from a tap and go. Score 5 -0
A few mins before half time Harry Swaine scored a well worked try from the center, his conversion attempt coming off the post and at halftime, Gorey lead 10-0.
After the break with a few changes on it was nip and tuck until a brilliant line by Zack Bailey, fed by a lovey pass from Harry. It saw Zack score a great individual try, Harry getting the conversion. Score 17-0

Kilkenny kept playing hard and got a well-deserved try and in the dying minutes of the match. Final score 17 -5
The boys played really well especially putting up a great defense held their structure really well on the big pitch.
The nerves have been replaced with excitement for the rest of the season. This week sees us play at home against Enniscorthy on Saturday evening 5pm.
