On a blustery Sunday morning the U12 Boys team took to the road to meet the challenge of the Old Wesley RFC and Wicklow RFC at Old Wesley's Training Ground in Ballychorus Dublin.
Gorey fielded 2 squads, while Old Wesley and Wicklow fielded one a piece.
The guys warmed up with Paul, Darren and Craig getting them ready to do battle, and battle they did. In one match running in 8 Tries to the a virtually unchallenged 1 in response. To a man, they each stood up with their teammates, supported each other and brought the best out from each other. Great individual performances were there but you could see it in the coaches that they were impressed by this young team of warriors. The coaches of each opposing team commented on the skills of our young team but were very impressed with their conduct during the match and after. The future of mini & youth rugby at Gorey looks very good in the hands of these young men.
These Blitz matches are really important to develop our young players.

Next weekend the U12 Boys team will blitz against Wexford Wanderers RFC and Rathdrum RFC on Saturday 05 October from 5.30pm at home in Gorey - come along and cheer on our young men
