Saturday saw our under 14 girls travel to Carlingford Knights for first round of Leinster Plate.

Gorey received from KO, with a couple of handling errors by both teams eventually Gorey started the scores with a try from #11 Áine Crehan, followed shortly after with 4 tries by player of the match #15 Medbh Dowling, with #10 Darcie Bailey converting the 5th try of the game.

Gorey saw their 6th try coming from Áine for her 2nd of the game. Just on the cusp of half time Carlingford went over for their first try.

The 2nd half saw Gorey off to another strong start with tries from Medbh, #7 Elly Rynhart Kenny and #8 Caoimhe McCann with Darcie converting all 3.

Caoimhe went over for her 2nd try of the game from a brilliant rip of the ball. Carlingford 5 Gorey 58. Carlingford never gave up and got their 2nd try, converting same. 2 minutes left and Gorey kicked off, chasing it and getting it back into Gorey possession sending Medbh over for her 6th try of the day.

A game with lots to learn from, some handling errors but also some amazing ball steals, runs, support and kicks by a number of players.  A game that saw the girls play as a team and celebrate each other's achievements. They celebrated the win by receiving their new team 1/4 zips to match their training jerseys.
